DSW Homes Completes Work in Louisiana Program

Posted: December 14, 2016

After Louisiana residents were forced from their homes due to flooding in August 2016, DSW Homes prepared to help get them back home. In response to the flooding, Louisiana’s Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness in conjunction with FEMA instituted the Shelter At Home Program. This Pilot Program was designed to provide emergency temporary repairs to flooded homes such as providing residents with a clean and secure home with functioning A/C and heat as well as a functioning bathroom and kitchen.

After being admitted as a contractor in the Shelter At Home Program, DSW Homes received our first assignments on September 16, 2016. Now, 88 days later, DSW Homes has completed the 1,594 assignments we were issued. On average, each project took 18 days to complete from initial site visit to receiving a Work Order to the completion of work and passing of the Final Inspection.

DSW Homes operations in Baton Rouge were open from 6am – 9pm, 7 days a week to expedite the recovery process and fulfill our assignments as quickly as possible while still producing the quality work DSW Homes is known for.
