In addition to programs in New York and New Jersey, DSW Homes is participating in Hurricane Sandy Disaster Recovery work in the state of Connecticut. For this program, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated $71.8 million dollars to the State of Connecticut. Of this funding, $30 million has been designated for the rehabilitation, reconstruction or mitigation of single family housing damaged by Hurricane Sandy. This work will take place in the four southern counties, Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London.
DSW Homes was admitted to this program in December 2013. Currently, the program is in the planning stages and we anticipate beginning construction activities in the summer.
