Minot, North Dakota Small Rental Property Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program — March 2014 – Present
In June 2011, Minot, North Dakota was overrun with flood waters when the Souris River overflowed the local levees after heavy rainfall and the spring snow melt, breaking a 130-year-old flood record. As a result, over 4,000 homes in the area were flooded and it was the first FEMA declared Level 5 disaster since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
With experience in disaster recovery and a desire to help the residents of Minot, DSW Homes opened our office in Minot in April 2013. Recently, in addition to the owner-occupied disaster recovery program, we were admitted to the Small Rental Property Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program (SRRR). This program seeks to assist rental property owners where insurance and other assistance has been inadequate.
