Lead Estimator

Summary

DSW Homes is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Lead Estimator. The Lead Estimator reports to the Corporate Services Manager. Candidate should be self-motivated, detail oriented, able to multi-task with advanced problem-solving techniques, proficient in communication skills with timely follow up, uphold high value for customer service relationships and exemplify integrity, passion, and professionalism. If you excel at problem solving and enjoy working with others, we welcome your application.

Job Functions

• Meet bid date schedules and deadlines for residential and commercial projects

• Review, read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications

• Perform quantity take-offs using a systematic, methodical, detail-oriented process

• Review and understand contract and bid documents

• Prepare purchase order packages

• Solicit pricing from and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers

• Support all pre-construction activities

• Track and manage job cost and margins

• Mentor junior estimators

Education and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience in related field

• 5+ years of experience in a progressive estimating role. 

• Homefront, Sage 300 CRE (Timberline), AutoCAD and Xactimate experience a plus!
