Our Leadership Team

Moneka Singh Jani, Vice President of Business Development

Moneka graduated from New York University with bachelor’s degrees in history and political science, and a Master of Science in Biodefense from George Mason University. Moneka started her career teaching legal research skills to women impacted by the justice system in New York State prisons. With a passion to assist people during adversity, Moneka subsequently joined the non-profit sector for advocacy and was an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in a volunteer Fire Department.

Being impacted by Hurricane Isabel (2003) and Hurricane Sandy (2012), Moneka was inspired to join the disaster recovery industry and leverage her project management skills in leading Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery and Mitigation (CDBG-DR / CDBG-MIT) programs. With 11 years of program management and policy development experience, Moneka has proven her ability to effectively initiate, manage, and supervise complex local, state, and federal grants while proactively identifying areas of deficiency and implementing effective solutions. Her extensive leadership experience is most notable during her time successfully leading the State of North Carolina’s $1 Billion CDBG-DR/CDBG-MIT allocation in the launch of multiple disaster recovery housing programs and issuing more than $212 Million awards to impacted individuals.
