Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA)
Hurricanes Irma and Maria had a devastating impact on the United States Virgin Islands (USVI). The two back-to-back Category 5 storms in September 2017 caused significant damage and destruction to the islands’ housing stock.
The USVI was the recipient of $1.86 billion of Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist in disaster recovery and rebuilding efforts resulting from Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
DSW successfully completed the VIHFA Step Roof Rebuilding Program in response to the devastating impact of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. DSW effectively completed roof repairs and rebuilt full roof scopes, plus many shelter-at-home scopes that allowed people to live with basic necessities.
